AHOJ means hello.
AHOJ began in Zittau in 2016 with an idea: bring people from Germany, Czechia and Poland together through art, music and shared experiences. Encounters grew into stages, tents, conversations, workshops and new friendships.
I helped initiate AHOJ and have shaped its organisation, booking, technical production, building and direction over the years. But no festival is built alone. Artists, crews, partners and guests made AHOJ what it is.
More than a programme.
Live music, DJs, theatre, contemporary circus, open stages and a community tent for workshops and conversations. A place to contribute, not just consume. The people and their differences are part of the artwork.
The story is not finished.
AHOJ can evolve: perhaps as a gathering, a travelling cultural format or a collaboration with other festivals. The heart remains the same — making encounters possible, challenging prejudices and daring to create something together.
